My idea for a ritual is a to have a series of tests that test hopeful couples like a coming age and they have to survive a typical jungle/ or similar survival challenge but as a pair and then evaluate each other’s compatibility based on rating of others performance. No roles are assigned. So they do their role based on skill willingness cooperation. Failed couples will have contradicting roles or let their partners down in some way. they get rewarded with title like the brave, cunning. Etc
